Ensiling for BASF at the Brettin site.

The business started with the storage of big bags for Inprotec at the Genthin site. Inprotec produces granulates (surfactants) for the manufacture of detergents and cleaning agents at the Genthin industrial park. These are filled in big bags. We began production disposal and storage of BB in 2014.

In autumn 2015, BASF (Inprotec’s customer at the site) invited tenders for the filling of big bags in silo trains. This was a completely new business model for us. The tender was for ensiling a maximum of 38 silo trains/month. To complete this task, we decided to use a tube chain conveyor in accordance with the requirement profile.
We were able to convince BASF with this technology and our process description. Ensiling (with a makeshift system) started in spring 2016 with a maximum of 3 ensilings per week. At the end of 2016, we were able to put our current facility into operation.

In January 2020, we relocated our facility to Brettin, Germany. Not only has the location changed but also the order volumes in this business field. We now handle an average of 95 silo trains per month for BASF and 7 silo trains for another customer.
Business is growing steadily. The increase in volume promised by BASF and a longer-term contract make it necessary to invest in a second facility. Commissioning for this facility is planned for November 2021.

In addition to this business, we started ISO container handling for BASF at the Genthin industrial park in July 2021. We use our container stacker (Kalmar) for this purpose. This project will further strengthen our position at the Brettin/Genthin site.
